This week we put on the tinfoil hat to contemplate Xal'atath's plans for the future, the nature of the void, and where we might be going in the Midnight expansion due out in 2026. As with most of our wild speculation episodes, the conversation goes o... more

We're doing something a little new this week for Lore Watch, with a remaster of an older episode. As Joe explains in the new intro, we wanted to highlight something that we've already covered, but which could use another look as it becomes relevant a... more

  • Thanks guys

Been listening for 3 years now and it’s been great! Unfortunately I have to give you 3 stars because I subscribed for Warcraft lore. Maybe I’m alone, but I couldn’t care less about comics, Warhammer or cyberpunk. Hopefully you re-evaluate what your core audience cares about.

  • Consistently entertaining and surprising

I’ve been listening to the podcast for about 8 years now and I must say it’s one of my favourite to tune into. Mr. Rossi and Mr. Perez have really hit their stride lately, though there are moments when I miss Ms. Stickneys viewpoint I must say lately the fellas have been on fire. For new listeners there is no better backlog library of blizzard games related lore. This podcast shines as one of the few bright examples of how to produce a game related lore podcast, the hosts not only recount what h... more

  • Nerd Alert!!!

This is like sitting around with your nerdiest friends and talking about Warcraft lore. I love it. None of my friends are really into lore so this is a great way to fill that gap. Find a topic of interest in the backlogs or be like me, start at the first and work through all of them. Their knowledge isn’t perfect but it’s great for us lore nerds. Thank you for doing this.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Could Elune and Xal’atath be linked?
Q: Is there lore to support an Anu Tafamet sort of thing between Elune and Xalatath?
There isn't much established that links Xalatath and Elune directly, although the concept opens interesting discussions about their possible connection and the nature of existence.
Will the Light bring together Anduin Wrynn and Faerin Lothar?
Q: Based on the story presented so far in The War Within, do you see Faerin being set up as a love interest for Anduin?
Many believe she is likely to be a love interest, but it raises concerns about her character depth and the storytelling implications.
Concerning dragon histories, Titan origins, and World Trees
Q: Do you think the leaders of the new flights will be invited to sit at the seat of Aspects?
The concept of being an Aspect has shifted; the powers are gifted by Azeroth, and Virenoth appears to embody representing the new wings along with that power.
Concerning dragon histories, Titan origins, and World Trees
Q: While doing the quest to bring other flights to the Dragonlands, I noticed that the resulting whelps have the body type of a dragon. Can you explain more about the history of these flights?
The body type of the whelps indicates that there were already ordered dragons prior to their infusion, some might have originated with Odin, who played a role in their creation.
The mystery of Northern Lordaeron
Q: Is there a way to wield Void the way that Paladins or Priests wield Light without being corrupted?
The Light isn't simple or easy to understand and takes raw willpower to control, while Void magic represents the unknown, and both have their risks of corruption.
