  • I stopped following

Rachel is doing well overall. Russ is informative, but his communication tends to come across as consistently negative, and there is a noticeable lack of energy in the podcast.

  • Hardly listenable

I’ve tried to listen, but this is easily the worst flyer podcast. Cohen is way too monotone, and mostly negative. Rachel can’t seem to understand hockey, obsessed lately with Delo playing, not understanding why he in the lineup, well he’s gonna play when the other team is heavy, or have a bonafide tough guy(xhekaj, foligno, etc). In general every locked in podcast are terrible.

  • Russ Cohen is awful

Russ Cohen obviously hates the Flyers and can’t hide his disdain. Rachel is much more objective and balanced. Cohen’s negative bias is evident by his off the wall assumption about Kolosov playing time in preseason being forced on Tocchet by Briere near the end of today’s podcast. I find most of his takes inane and negatively skewed. Not looking for a homer but this guy is an obvious NY sports fan (probably Islanders) and has no business being on a Flyers podcast.

  • Objectively Flyers

Thank you for your objective Flyers evaluations and Phantoms news. Two things that are sometimes difficult to find here. Met Mr. Cohen at a Flyers Fan Club meeting in Voorhees and he was just what you’d expect… gracious, patient, and informed. Appreciate you both and listen to every show. Thank you.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Was the Lehigh Valley Phantoms season a success?
Q: Maddie, what is your take on the not making the playoffs as a metric for success for the season?
While playoff absence is disappointing, it can still be a meaningful indicator of whether the organization developed prospects, integrated new players effectively, and laid groundwork for future seasons. The bigger picture includes system implementation, player development, and roster balancing that could pay off in years to come.
The Philadelphia Flyers get it DONE in NJ with big games from Zegras & Foerster
Q: What stood out most about the Flyers' performance against New Jersey?
Foerster and Zegras each contributed two goals, Vladar made crucial saves, and the team showed strong defensive effort, especially on the PK, which helped seal a decisive win.
WE’RE BACK! Philadelphia Flyers Puck Drop is tonight vs the Washington Capitals
Q: Do you think that Brear is going to do anything at or by the trade deadline?
It's uncertain, but it's likely they will wait and see before making any moves.
OLYMPICS SQUAD: CLASH: USA vs. Canada SET for Gold—Who Will CONQUER the Ultimate Hockey Showdown?
Q: What concerns you most about facing Team USA?
It's probably the blue line and goaltending for USA, as they have a lot of star talent.
OLYMPICS SQUAD: CLASH: USA vs. Canada SET for Gold—Who Will CONQUER the Ultimate Hockey Showdown?
Q: What concerns you most about facing Canada in this gold medal game?
Crosby coming back and potentially taking over the team is my biggest worry.
