・主の使いは「近寄って」きて、焚火が火の柱に変わり、車座に座っていた羊飼いを周り照らした。
１）「非常に恐れた」羊飼いたちに「大きな喜び」を告げる御使い
・10 節は「恐れることはない」の後に「なぜなら」という言葉が隠れている。理由の第一は「見なさい」であり、それは御使いの顔である。
・「告げ知らせる」と訳されているのが、ユーアンゲリゾマイ（福音する…良い知らせを伝えるために使者を遣わし、これを受け取って祝宴を設けること：ここでは天の万軍の賛美）である。
