If you can quote from “Casablanca” or “Gone with the Wind,” you can probably quote from “Now Voyager.” Or you could, with a little reminder. “Don’t let’s ask for the moon, when we have the stars.” And the Paul Henreid/Bette Davis cigarette-lighting ... more
We bring Stanwyck Summer (but not the LTS season) to a close with a draft-ish episode. Each panelist has brought us a Barbara Stanwyck film - one we haven’t talked about before on the show. Somehow, there are a number of cats.
Stanwyck Summer Draft more
This time, Stanwyck is an invalid, who’s having trouble with her phone. I would call it a straight-up female victim tale, but Babs is not what you’d call sympathetic as a character. Even so, should her husband (Burt Lancaster) be plotting her death? more

This podcast is very enjoyable with great insights, commentary and banter between the panelists. But any episode in which Nathan Alderman is a panelist is ruined for me. His “holier than thou” and “we have it all figured out now-they were idiots back then” attitude is nauseating!
I really enjoyed this podcast at first. All the joking around, it was great and light hearted. Now slowly but surely the opinions etc r becoming more and more woke. They took 20 minutes apologizing and hemming and hawing about Mickey Rooney role in breakfast in Tiffany’s. Yes we know this was not right and definitely not an accurate portrayal. We know this. We do not need to keep going on and on and flogging ourselves on a meta fork Al whipping post
