  • Horrible takes

Should have known I was in trouble after the 5 minute petal clutching about the use of the “R word.” Made to through bad takes on Stephen King, tapped out when the two hosts said Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is a bad movie.

  • The greatest podcast of all time

The title may sound sarcastic but the statement is 100 percent true. At the peak of this podcast during the lockdowns there simply wasn’t a better podcast out there. Unfortunately the episodes post jaws aren’t quite the same as the classic LJFAM episodes but still really good fun. Both Sarah (not just the female) and MJ (not just the guy) gave me so much joy and a lot of laughs. Especially Sarah’s laugh! It’s the best 🤩

  • SQ Issues

I only listened to 3 episodes and they were ok. I’ve heard a lot worse. My grumble is the sound quality. The female is too close to the microphone and sounds as though she’s been on the laughing gas as she can’t let a minute go by without cackling. The problem with that is the guy seems to be sat in the room next door so apart from dropping the word “progressive “ 😱 in every now and again one can barely hear what he’s talking about. Probably just as well if “ progressive “ is an indicator. Sham... more

  • Lovely show

What elevates this above most film podcasts is the sheer warmth and joy radiating from the two hosts. That they’re talking ceaselessly about the best film ever made too? That’s a bonus. Amity A+!

Episode 119: Sorcerer
Q: What do you think about Sorcerer?
I thought it was an incredible movie with three of the most intense scenes I've ever seen that also look incredible. It has a very good acted movie and you could show those scenes without context just to show how to film something intense.
Episode 133: 6 NOPEs A.K.A. 21 John Wicks
Q: What is a bad miracle?
Spectacle can be a bad miracle, as it can be good or bad depending on the context and intent behind it.
Episode 136: The Great Jaws Quiz (Live From Martha's Vineyard)
Q: How many Golden Raspberry Awards was Jaws: The Revenge nominated for?
The answer was 7, surprising the participants since it only won for worst visual effects.
Episode 136: The Great Jaws Quiz (Live From Martha's Vineyard)
Q: Which popular film guidebook said, set of Jaws, despite generally in frightening sequences, it is a slacky narrative?
MJ speculated Leonard Maltin but got it wrong, it was actually Hayley Wells film guide.
