Gott erlegt Ijob Prüfungen auf und schickt 2 große Verlustwellen. Ijob verliert Güter und Kinder, schließlich seine Gesundheit. Er verflucht den Tag seiner Geburt.
Hiob spricht zu den Freunden über das Wohlergehen der Gottlosen. Er will nun seine Rechtssache vor Gott bringen. Er hält an seiner Unschuld fest und begibt sich auf die Suche nach Weisheit.
Der Herr selbst antwortet Gott du stellt ihm prüfemde Fragen. Hiob demütigt sich vor Gott und bereut.Am Ende aber stellt Gott Ijobs Glück wieder her und gibt ihm doppelt soviel, wie er gehabt hatte.
Hiob beklagt das Elend des Menschen und sein eigenes Geschick. Doch sein Glaube an den Erlöser ist unerschütterlich.
