夸父追逐太阳，一直追赶到太阳落下的地方；他感到口渴，想要喝水，就到黄河、渭河喝水。黄河、渭河的水不够，夸父就去北方喝大湖的水。还没赶到大湖，就半路渴死了。夸父的身体变成了大山，手杖化成了桃林。
后羿射日之后，声名远播，众人纷纷拜师学艺，当中混进了一个心术不正的人，企图抢夺后裔和妻子嫦娥的不老仙丹，妻子嫦娥无奈之下，只得吞下了整颗仙丹，飞升成仙……
