Love the podcast and the topics discussed are always relevant and interesting. My one suggestion is to please allow Ayami to talk more, often Joey cuts her off, talks over her or man-explains and it might be unintentional, as he has strong opinions on things, but as a woman it can be slightly annoying to hear. Also as a Japanese learner it’s really helpful to listen to Ayami’s responses. If the balance of dialogue had more Japanese it’d be perfect. Thank you!
I love the concept of this podcast, but it does bother me how much more joey talks than ayami. I feel like Ayami is constantly being interrupted by joey. As someone who is trying to brush up Japanese this is frustrating because I end up listening more English than Japanese.
I’ve been studying Japanese language by myself for about a year now. For a 37 year old busy dad it’s hard, but on my recent trip to Japan last week I was able to get by pretty well in the restaurant environment, which was super exciting for me. I came across your pod this morning, and I have to say it’s one of the most interesting formats I’ve come across. Thank you for this!
I just recently started listening and I love this podcast. I live in Japan and I’m starting to learn Japanese. I love listening to this and hearing back and forth so I can focus/learn and understand enough to be entertained. Thank you!
I love that I can follow the story and also tolerate some ambiguity. This is great listening practice!
