I have to ask Allah to make me strong enough to not break down and hold onto the miracles during these tough times.

I worked as a journalist in Gaza, trained with journalists there, and continued to return for advocacy work.

The first time was in 2006, I went as a journalist on my own. I felt the respect in Gaza was profound, especially towards women, and was struck by how much more centered and grounded the people were.

I wasn't Muslim, then Allah guided me, and now I'm Muslim. My profession is journalism, I'm also a trained actor and an author.
