  • Great pod for landscape tog enthusiasts

Many of us landscape photography enthusiasts are introverts at heart but that does not mean we don’t enjoy connecting and listening to likeminded togs. If that’s you, you will enjoy this format. Grant asks the questions I want to know the answers to and he gives his guests the space and time to answer. I’ll be tuning in frequently. Thank you Grant.

Ep 262 - Yosemite Landscape Photography with Michael Frye
Q: What was the turning point to becoming a professional photographer?
I made a rash decision early on, choosing photography because it was what I wanted to do with my life, and I didn't have another marketable skill; my wife and I built the business together and learned along the way, treating it as a long-term pursuit rather than a quick win.
Ep 262 - Yosemite Landscape Photography with Michael Frye
Q: What's your definition of success in your photography?
If I'm able to make something that conveys a little bit of what it felt like to be in a certain place at a certain time, especially during exceptional moments, and if that resonates with others, that to me is success; beyond that it's about enjoying the process and maintaining a personal voice.
Ep 261 - Peter Eastway: 50 Years of Landscape Photography
Q: What's the difference between a workshop and a photo tour, and which should photographers consider?
Workshops are focused on technique and post-production with hands-on guidance, while photo tours emphasize location-based shooting and discussions on the road; many participants return repeatedly because the experience combines learning with inspiration.
Ep 261 - Peter Eastway: 50 Years of Landscape Photography
Q: How do you approach pricing and turning photography into a sustainable business?
Pricing is about valuing time, effort, and unique access. It's essential to sell the work first, build relationships, and then consider galleries or representation as revenue grows; the key is balancing passion with practical business strategies.
Ep 261 - Peter Eastway: 50 Years of Landscape Photography
Q: Why did you become a photographer, and what kept you in the field for more than five decades?
I've always loved taking pictures and found photography to be a way of making sense of the world; over time it became both a career and a craft that rewarded persistence, curiosity, and a willingness to adapt—from film to digital and beyond.
