  • Great pod for landscape tog enthusiasts

Many of us landscape photography enthusiasts are introverts at heart but that does not mean we don’t enjoy connecting and listening to likeminded togs. If that’s you, you will enjoy this format. Grant asks the questions I want to know the answers to and he gives his guests the space and time to answer. I’ll be tuning in frequently. Thank you Grant.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 244 - Bill Ward; Actor, Ocean ICM Photographer & Finding Solitude Through Photography
Q: What started your fascination with Intentional Camera Movement (ICM)?
I was inspired by Doug Chinnery's On Landscape interview in 2011 showing ICM images. I had been doing long exposures and wanted to push reality a bit further, distilling it into something surprising and visually expressive. Since 2012-2013 ICM has become a central practice across seascapes and other subjects, because it foregrounds time, movement, and serendipity in collaboration with the landscape.
Ep 244 - Bill Ward; Actor, Ocean ICM Photographer & Finding Solitude Through Photography
Q: Why did you start photography in 2010? What drew you to landscape and seascape work?
I had time after a pilot for a TV show in Canada didn't go to series, and I used that gap to try something new. I bought my first proper DSLR (Pentax) with a tripod and started a photography project, focusing on the coast of Eastern England and winter beach scenes, which taught me to use a tripod and long exposure and opened up a pathway to combining photography with my acting life.
Ep 242 - Andrew Vukosav – Abstract Aerial Landscapes, Flying Solo & Photographing Australia from the Sky
Q: What sparked your move from traditional photography to aerial landscape work?
A long-standing passion for flying combined with photography, plus a need to see Australia from a new perspective, led to the practical solution of mounting a camera on a plane so the landscape could be captured from above.
Ep 238 - Matt Jackisch on Light, Nature & Consciousness
Q: What did you learn from the experience of capturing that first landscape photo?
He realized he could capture scenes uniquely even in groups and found a sense of pride in documenting it his way.
Ep 238 - Matt Jackisch on Light, Nature & Consciousness
Q: Why is Matt Jackisch a photographer, and in particular, a Landscape photographer?
He felt he had more to offer the world beyond his secure job as an air traffic controller, leading him to discover photography as an outlet for his creativity.
