Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Emmy-nominated Director, Stunt Coordinator for Tulsa King, FREDDIE POOLE
Q: Can you walk us through the planning process for the big compound sequence with Sly and Samuel L. Jackson?
We conducted tech scouts, mapped exteriors and interiors, built a previs with Scott Peck, and coordinated a large stunt team to execute the complex beats while prioritizing the actors' time in hair/makeup and the practical constraints of episodic TV.
Emmy-nominated Director, Stunt Coordinator for Tulsa King, FREDDIE POOLE
Q: How do you approach fights with Garrett Hedlund and manage safety on set?
Garrett is a friend and willing to push, but we cap the risky moves; we use rehearsals, stunt doubles where needed, and a strong team with Chris Brewster to choreograph—ensuring the performance is strong, but safe.
MARK STRANGE, Martial Artist, Star of KUNG FU GAMES from Republic Pictures and Tiger Style Media
Q: What are you looking to do going forward? Are you going to continue to evolve as an actor?
I want to perform, I want to act, I want to explore more roles, keeping to action movies, as that's where my heart is.
MARK STRANGE, Martial Artist, Star of KUNG FU GAMES from Republic Pictures and Tiger Style Media
Q: What gives you that sense of pride over this particular project?
Pride for me purely because I class it as my first kind of leading man role and it was an honor to be part of the team at Tiger Style Media.
MARK STRANGE, Martial Artist, Star of KUNG FU GAMES from Republic Pictures and Tiger Style Media
Q: What did you bring in particular to the style that Mike Fisher employs as a martial artist to survive these games?
We kept my kind of fighting style in this one very practical, using Krav Maga techniques and incorporating cool weaponry.
