  • Love the podcast, hate the sexist jokes

Really love the podcast and find it so informative and useful.

However, I find myself increasingly enraged and disappointed by the often sexist, misplaced “jokes” of the man doing the market reports. I feel his comments add nothing of humour to the podcast and highlight just how far we have to go as an industry towards gender equality. It is really disheartening as a woman working in the dairy industry.

The comments relating to the England womens football team this week with regards to him “id... more

  • Fast forward to the interesting stuff

Once you get past the grating and misplaced theme tune and cringey self pleasing dad jokes from Chris, the topics covered are interesting and useful and in depth more of that latter please

  • BRILLIANT co-hosts

Best dairy industry podcast around. Always informative and highly entertaining, but it’s the talented, witty and devastatingly handsome co-hosts that make it. Whatever you’re paying Will and Ben, it isn’t enough! ;-)

Q: If the derogation isn't approved, how would that affect farmers and the dairy industry?
Not having a derogation would likely lead to significant drops in milk volumes and adversely impact rural infrastructure in Ireland.

Q: Why has the European Commission proposed a further nitrates derogation?
The Commission recognized the efforts made by Irish farmers to improve water quality and decided to recommend granting the derogation based on ground realities and trends in water quality.
Ireland's Nitrate Derogation: Balancing Dairy Production and Water Quality
Q: Joe, can you explain what this nitrates derogation is about and give us some of the background to it, please?
The derogation allows farmers to apply for a higher level of nitrogen than the standard, under specific conditions. This is vital for Ireland's dairy industry.
Milk price discussions & Freshways £25M investment
Q: Bali, what does the move from Acton as a sort of main site to the new site mean for suppliers?
Overall in the input to the factory, from a logistics point of view, from a farmer's point of view, we're moving around, but it doesn't impact the business very much.
Meet the Farmers Weekly Dairy Farmer of the Year Winners: John & Nicola Young
Q: What are your plans over the next few years?
We have exciting building projects, including a new calf shed and an AD plant, which will be great for the business.
