在河西走廊的时候，“蚀”这个字逐渐在我的脑中变得清晰了起来，我一路上经过的城市、古迹、戈壁，还有那些兴建的大型发电设施，整个河西走廊不断被风蚀、雨蚀、锈蚀，也被现代侵蚀，人们来来回回，走了又离开，城市废弃又兴建，古迹坍塌又保护，是我心理对此时此刻河西走廊内心真实的写照。于是最后在敦煌离开时，我笃定这个字能够描述我的河西走廊，也有了创作欲，去制作这一期播客。
