在平常，很多人會到處尋求所謂比較靈驗的廟宇求神拜佛，或者是在農曆七月普渡時鋪張的尋求好兄弟的保佑。其實，真正的神明就在我們自家裡，父母親就是我們的菩薩，因為從小就是他們養育我們長大，保護著我們。 如果在他們有生之年得不到安養，那麼去找什麼神明求福份呢？都是徒勞無功的吧！如果照顧好他們，做到所謂的反哺，那麼即使不去廟裡求神明，老天爺也自然會保佑我們的。

普渡在客語是說成「渡孤」，這個孤是指「孤魂野鬼」，也就是人過世之後在外頭遊盪的魂魄，跟家裡有後代祭拜的祖先是不同的。 平常日，客家人一般都不會進行渡孤，只有到了農曆七月。因為是孤魂野鬼來享用，所以傳統上都會到村庄或是大廟的廣場進行。這個時候就可能會用上鴨子來當祭品，所以才會有「七月半的鴨子」的師傅話。 普渡時，在供桌上的祭品會插上一支香，當祭拜完，也會將第一杯酒在桌前灑上三圈。不過，農曆七月通常都是炎熱的季節，食物如果保存不當很容易腐敗，所以要特別小心。至於吃了會拉肚子而懷疑是不是好兄弟來捉弄自... more
兩個老人家在談笑中互相羨慕對方好命、命好，其實這兩位老人家的晚年是真的無憂。但是他們兩人的命運在年輕時是差得很遠的，一個是富家子弟，一個窮家孩子。 富家的年輕時投資房地產，而窮的就投資自己的孩子的教養。等到他們都有年紀了，一個收房租過日子，一個則是子女孝順，兩個人的日子都過得很好，至少衣食無虞。 所以過去的人說的，年少要會想，老來才能當好樣。至於好命與命好，只要安然自在那就都是了。

今年因為潤月的關係，以致於農曆七月來得有比較晚。每年進入這個月份，大家總是有很多的禁忌，深怕招惹了好兄弟，或是有什麼意外出現。 其實會有這種傳統，都是因為起源於「目蓮救母」的故事。 本來中元節是一個很歡喜的日子，因為有了這個故事之後，大家反而顧忌著好兄弟們回到人間來遊盪了。 其實只要不做虧心事，心中不欠人，那麼即使遇到好兄弟也沒什麼好擔憂的。平日就是行得正，心安理得，哪會有什麼奇奇怪怪的事讓自己遇上呢？
