I recently got introduced to 'Jailhouse Talk' through another Elvis-themed podcast (TCBCast: An Unofficial Elvis Fan Podcast), and this has quickly grown to become a favourite podcast of mine.
The two hosts clearly know a lot about the art of cinema, and it's great to hear them discuss Elvis' films from a modern perspective as deeply as they do. I've been an Elvis fan for about eight years at this point, so I thought I knew a lot about his movies already, but Andrew and Rob consistently bring ... more
The guys do such a great job of going through all these older movies with a new light and making them so interesting. Not having any background in film, it’s really cool to hear more about the processes of filmmaking and how in depth you can get in analyzing them. They’re so much fun to listen to and I can’t wait for more episodes!
These two guys have been doing a great job reviewing these movies! They offer some humor, fresh perspective, and interesting background information each film they review. Not an Elvis fan myself, I’m getting a real idea of what he had to endure because of his stardom.
Great topic for a well done podcast. Elvis made a few dozen movies, a handful of good ones and a few great ones. But they were fun and Elvis was so cool and charming. He deserved a lifetime achievement award and he certainly deserves a more respectful treatment of his digital output(no extras at all? That’s criminal) but this podcast fills part of that void. Check it out!
