  • Possibly the worst rugby podcast out there.

Let me preface this by saying I love rugby podcasts, the offload, the left wing, the counter ruck, the rugby pod. However these two are just plain boring and awful. They talk at a snails pace, offer little to no insight and just seem like they don’t know what they’re doing. Side note the Ward brothers are going to regret going on this pod with how much shade they were throwing in this pod, very counter to rugby values.

  • Too Close

I am a Connor Murray fan, but if this podcast is going to last the pace he needs to be more objective. He obviously wasn’t looking at the same match I watched. He is still too close to much if not all of the squad to give an accurate analysis. So many of the team were off the boil, yet there was no mention of missed chances etc.

Great to get a pod of the Ireland rugby scene from the BBC..hopefully it lasts the pace.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Brittany Hogan: Weddings, Rugby and a fresh start with Sale
Q: What prompted your move to England and your shift to Sevens?
I wanted a new challenge and to reignite my enthusiasm for rugby, especially as the 15s pathway became more demanding; Sevens offered higher-level competition and a fresh environment that helped me grow.
Cliodhna Moloney-MacDonald: The Chief Hooker
Q: What stood out about the World Cup experiences in Brighton and Twickenham for the players?
The Brighton experience felt like a fan‑driven, communal showcase for women's rugby with a festival atmosphere, while Twickenham embodied a historic, personal milestone—playing in a full stadium against England and sharing a special moment with her wife on the field.
Cliodhna Moloney-MacDonald: The Chief Hooker
Q: How did the move to Wasps influence Cliodhna's development and Ireland's trajectory after 2017?
The move exposed her to higher standards, a stronger professional environment, and new coaching approaches, which helped her refine her game, solve technical and set‑piece problems, and ultimately raise Ireland's competitive level.
Lynne Cantwell: Visibility, Legacy and Changing Irish Rugby
Q: What was it like to see rugby grow from a less visible sport to national attention?
The growth was gradual but tangible, with broadcast coverage only finally arriving in 2013-2014, and the Grand Slam and Six Nations becoming higher-profile; this visibility helped recruitment, funding, and pathway development for the next generation of players.
Lynne Cantwell: Visibility, Legacy and Changing Irish Rugby
Q: When did you first cap for Ireland, and how did that journey unfold given how early you joined?
I first got capped around 2000-2001 during a period when the team faced limited exposure, yet I trained with the squad and quickly earned a place, starting on the wing and remaining a regular thereafter as the sport was still developing in visibility.
