Not sure what the point of this podcast was. Nothing substantial covered and doesn't come to any sort of conclusion.
Amazing piece. What a mess of a man! He literally has an ego the size of someone else’s we know running the US.

At times it felt like listening to a personal argument between two people with different moral positions. I don’t think it’s the job of a journalist to take a moral position and then make a judgement on the person they are interviewing. There was something deeply unpleasant about that approach. Surely they’re there to ask for penetrating questions, not to give their own personal viewpoint on an individual’s m... more
Have to agree, Rob has made some questionable life choices - however he has clearly been done up like a kipper in the name of journalistic integrity? It’s dull, lacking content and seemed like a story with no ending. The obvious point being that nobody is really going to want to stick their head above the parapet and take on the bad guys for risk of repercussions. Global Witness is an NGO and this is about spying involving NGOs, but they act as if they have the moral high ground without establishing that they actually do. Then this story gets laundered through Tortoise as some form of hit job on the main participant who withdrew consent. This podcast is icky and underhanded and feels like dressed up bullying. Ethically all of this seems questionable and leaves a bad taste.
