  • Easy listening for Warhammer!

Great voice and great interviews. Warhammer was such a huge part of my life as I was growing up before girls and other vices distracted me. Now that I’m settled and old enough to appreciate what these guys were doing and creating, this podcast and YouTube channel really hits the mark for me. Warhammer fantasy and WFRP had a special place in my heart, and 40K was a close second and I love sharing the joy of painting with my kids. Long may Jordan continue.

  • A real treasure trove

I’ve been into Games Workshop on and off for about 35 years, so it’s lovely to be able to hear all about the hobby and also some other popular games companies from the people I idolised when I was young. People like Kim Newman and Ian Watson who wrote the books, John Blanche, Paul Bonner and Adrian Smith who did the artwork, Trish Carden, Bob Naismith and Paul Hicks who do sculpting and lots of people like John Thornthwaite who did essential work making plastic models and moulding. A great catalogue of insightful interviews with a huge cast of individuals. Jordan clearly knows his stuff and is allowing his guests to tell their own stories, of their contributions and much appreciated work in the past decades of what has become a huge global industry.

Warhammer Artist Interview | Des Hanley in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
Q: What was Necromunda like to work on?
He describes Necromunda as a guns-heavy project with a focus on creating varied weaponry; he built on Kev Walker's gun illustrations and added distinctive markings and subtle metal tones to give weapons a believable, techy feel.
Warhammer Artist Interview | Des Hanley in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
Q: How did you become an artist?
Des recalls a lifelong drive to create, starting with drawing on anything available, moving into role-playing and board games in his teens, and eventually landing a part-time job at Games Workshop before earning a full interview and a chance to work on major Warhammer projects.
The New Old World RPG | Padraig Murphy in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
Q: What has been the most fun part of developing the Old World RPG?
Working with a wide range of talented people at Cubicle 7, and getting to craft and refine the magic and religion systems—the aspects that really bring the world to life for players and GMs.
The New Old World RPG | Padraig Murphy in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
Q: Is there a plan for cross-compatibility with Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay or other eras?
Yes, including a conversion mechanism to move Old World characters toward Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, with mapping of skills and characteristics to fit the different systems and eras, enabling cross-era campaigns.
The New Old World RPG | Padraig Murphy in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
Q: How do you handle currency and wealth in a way that supports narrative while staying grounded?
The game backloads currency into a system that mirrors social class (gold, silver, brass) affecting what characters can afford, while abstracting detailed accounting so the GM can focus on character interactions and story flow rather than micromanaging coins.
