Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S4 Ep 9: ‘Plastic-Free Periods: Health, Cotton, and Change’ featuring Dr Nuthana
Q: Why did you become involved with Natracare, and how has that collaboration shaped your work?
Serendipity led to a partnership when the ambassador recognized aligned values around sustainability and women's health; the collaboration has allowed me to advocate for sustainable products in healthcare settings and educate the public.
S4 Ep 9: ‘Plastic-Free Periods: Health, Cotton, and Change’ featuring Dr Nuthana
Q: You've described public health as looking at population health rather than individual patients—how does that influence your view on period products?
Public health focuses on preventing harm at a population level, so choosing safer, organic period products reduces exposure to chemicals for many people and can drive systemic changes in hospitals, workplaces, and schools.
S5 Ep3: 'Optimising Gut Health with Personalised Prebiotics' featuring Hannah Braye Registered Nutritionist (BANT)
Q: Are prebiotics suitable for children, and what's the minimal age for use with your products?
Prebiotics are generally safe for children; for PHDG products we typically recommend starting at around one year of age, but always check the specific product guidance and individual tolerances.
S5 Ep3: 'Optimising Gut Health with Personalised Prebiotics' featuring Hannah Braye Registered Nutritionist (BANT)
Q: Is it safe to use prebiotics in patients with SIBO, and if so, which one would you choose?
PHGG is often the most tolerated option in SIBO presentations, while highly fermentable prebiotics that feed upper GI tract microbes can exacerbate symptoms, so I typically favour low-FODMAP, gentler choices.
S4 Ep 10: 'The Natural Heart Doctor: Rethinking Cardiology from the Inside Out' featuring Dr Jack Wolfson
Q: What do you think are the most important changes needed in cardiology today?
The central change is real, open dialogue with patients about concerns over statins, blood pressure drugs, and procedures. We should emphasize lifestyle foundations first, reduce environmental toxin exposure, rely on advanced but appropriate testing for guiding care, and avoid unnecessary radiative tests and invasive procedures when not clearly beneficial.
