  • Great content but bad audio quality

Love the content and the expertise provided by the podcast. But for a professional podcast, the audio quality is below bad. This makes the podcast very difficult to consume. If you would up the microphones and the Audio quality just a bit, this podcast becomes much easier to listen to.

Episode 1450: PODCAST: Europe oxo-alcohols and derivatives markets see volatility spike as uncertainty grows on Middle East disruption
Q: In terms of the situation on Aquila Estes, what has the price trend been like over the last month and what impact do you see in that market?
Prices for butyl acrylate and 2-EHA have increased quite dramatically, with EA and MA rising less but still up; these moves reflect the size of spot markets, import disruptions from the Middle East and Asia, and heightened energy and feedstock costs. Market participants have seen limited March availability but expect further increases into April and May, depending on how long the disruption lasts and import flows resume.
Episode 1442: Think Tank: War proves vulnerability of global supply chains
Q: Tom, could you bring us up to date on what's happened overnight in oil markets and what's driving that?
Tom explains the price spike from the weekend events, the fresh volatility, and how market dynamics are feeding through to chemical feedstock availability and regional impacts, with a focus on the strait of Hormuz and sanctions risk.
Episode 1441: PODCAST: Europe ABS anti-dumping duties to shape shifts in Asia import market share
Q: Stephanie, can you explain to our listeners about the duties and what it means for the ABS market in Europe?
The definitive duties replace provisional measures, with rates varying by exporter; South Korea often at mid-single digits to around 7.5%, Taiwan higher in some cases, and the market expects a cautious rebalancing rather than an abrupt shift as buyers reassess price comparisons between Europe and Asia.
Episode 1435: Sustainably Speaking: EU Mass balance accounting under the SUPD and the future of chemical recycling
Q: What will look like a successful year for chemical recycling?
Valentijn highlights three indicators: progress on secondary legislation, successful startup of plants, and new investments for future capacities.
Episode 1431: Think Tank: New Antwerp meeting flags need for immediate action to save Europe chemicals
Q: How do you think that could actually work in terms of just making the EU more reactive, more responsive, more quick?
It could work by addressing the need for quick federal decisions without the delays often caused by needing consensus from all member states.
