  • Great content but bad audio quality

Love the content and the expertise provided by the podcast. But for a professional podcast, the audio quality is below bad. This makes the podcast very difficult to consume. If you would up the microphones and the Audio quality just a bit, this podcast becomes much easier to listen to.

Episode 1420: Think Tank: chronic oversupply will push crude oil prices below $60/barrel in 2026
Q: Do you have a scenario for how low prices could go in this oversupply situation in the longer term?
While prices may fall below $60, Chinese buying is likely to prevent them from going too far below that level for extended periods.
Episode 1420: Think Tank: chronic oversupply will push crude oil prices below $60/barrel in 2026
Q: What do you think about the geopolitical situation in Venezuela and Iran, and their impact on oil prices?
Venezuela has significant oil reserves but is a small producer with little impact on pricing; whereas Iran's production and control of the Strait of Hormuz make its situation much more impactful on oil prices.
Episode 1420: Think Tank: chronic oversupply will push crude oil prices below $60/barrel in 2026
Q: Ajay, let's start off by just talking about the current situation, and then I'll ask you to look out across the rest of 2026 later. What would you say is driving oil prices here at the start of the year?
We are near multi-year lows despite all the conflict around Venezuela and Iran, primarily driven by a major oversupply expected for 2026.
Episode 1419: Think Tank: EU chemicals regulatory reforms risk being too little, too late
Q: What do you think the future holds for the chemical industry in Europe?
If action on regulatory burdens is not accomplished quickly, we could face significant closures in the industry, particularly as geopolitical tensions rise and financial stability wavers.
Episode 1419: Think Tank: EU chemicals regulatory reforms risk being too little, too late
Q: Could you give us a bit more detail on what might be happening with the REACH revision and one substance legislation?
The REACH revision may amalgamate restriction and authorization processes and put more focus on non-animal testing. The one substance, one assessment package aims to enhance collaboration among EU agencies for chemical assessments.
