I'm surprised at how often I think back to these episodes, as someone who Occasionally Listened to the Mountain Goats. I've caught myself on multiple occasions quoting John's parenting advice (though I think my kid is really milking the crawling stage. I'll probably wond up looking back and agreeing that she crawled for like.. a week when it comes down to vibes). There's a dynamic between John and Joseph that is equal parts gentle and piercing.
