I love the enthusiasm and the passion put into each episode of this podcast. A little bit of everything where history and entertainment are blender well to make learning and appreciating this region so much more. More power to you and this show!
Very good, much appreciated labor of history, albiet could use a bit of decolonization which I can imagine is hard for someone whois from Kentucky? It is also not anti-colonial which influences the way he talks about anti-colonial efforts as “threats” or “danger”. Otherwise, actually very informative and digestible.
Amazing start, still solid once we get around the WWI time period and beyond. The host is a little cringe sometimes but I can promise that at least a few of the embellishments are going to make you laugh and smile. more
Given the sparse podcast content around Southeast Asian history, I really enjoy listening to these well-researched episodes. I'm always eager for more but would like an additional perspective outside the Western one that Charles presents. I hope the presence of this podcast and Charles' obvious passion for the subject inspires more history podcasts for this region!
Excited to have stumbled on this thanks to this knowledgeable man being my driver tonight. Incredible!
