Episode 5. HEARD. Podcast | Allisons story.
Q: What is the most important lesson or insight you want other women with ADHD to know?
Accept who you are as a neurodivergent individual, recognize your strengths, and build systems that work for your brain rather than trying to fit into a predefined mold of what ADHD should look like; community and coaching can be critical supports.
Episode 5. HEARD. Podcast | Allisons story.
Q: When did you realize you had ADHD, and what was the diagnosis experience like for you?
I suspected ADHD for a long time and, after speaking with a psychiatric nurse practitioner, was diagnosed in a straightforward session; it confirmed what I already understood and gave me a sense of relief and validation, though there was some grief and reflection involved.
Episode 5. HEARD. Podcast | Allisons story.
Q: Could you introduce yourself and share a bit about who you are today and what you do?
I'm Alison Scott, a mother of 11, an off-grid resident in Northern Alberta, and an ADHD and neurodivergent coach who also pursues a career in singing; my work blends coaching with my lived experience to help others understand and work with their brains.
Episode 1 – Meet Lara | HEARD. The Conversations
Q: What has changed in your life since discovering you're neurodivergent?

Q: When and where did you receive your diagnosis, and were there any challenges accessing it?
She describes a straightforward yet delayed process via a GP, Psychiatry UK, and NHS follow-up, with a comprehensive in-person assessment later to confirm ADHD.
