먼 과거 가상의 나라의 이야기지만, 현 시점에도 시의성을 지닌 작품이라는 생각이 들었습니다. 기자 출신의 작가의 작품인 만큼 실제 사건에 대한 묘사와 '마술적 사실주의' 기법의 섞인 환상적인 한 가문의 흥망성쇠 이야기 입니다. 생각보다 재밌어서 꼭 읽어보셨으면 합니다.

오늘의 이야기는 아고타 크리스토프의 "존재의 세가지 거짓말" 입니다.
제2차세계대전을 배경으로, 전쟁이 인간의 삶을 어떻게 파괴할 수 있는지를 보여줍니다. 또한 인간이 인간으로 존재하기 위해 어떤 것들이 필요한지에 대해서 생각해볼 수 있는 작품이었습니다. 냉혹한 현실에 대해 그보다도 더 차갑게 살아가는 형제의 모습을 보면서 그 비극이 더 강렬하게 다가오는 것 같기도 합니다.
