Sorry, but any production that eliminates the most important line in the play misses the point. You said in your Folgers interview that Hamlet is the best work of literature that is about someone thinking. Then, I don’t understand the choice to eliminate, “Who’s there?:” A play that is about self-discovery, inner thought, and coming of age through self-reflection, the fact that *this* play starts in the dark, with the words, “Who’s there?” is the single most important part of the play.
