Tonight, we're unleashing Outcome Oriented (OO)—the black-ops tactic for infiltrating your client's antisocial chaos by mirroring their warped worldview with Theory of Mind (ToM), snagging permission for feedback, and hijacking their perspective to s... more
Tonight, we’re diving into every clinician’s guilty secret: countertransference—that cocktail of disgust, anger, or eye-rolls that show up when your client’s Dark Triad vibes (psychopathy, narcissism, Machiavellian scheming) hit a little too close to... more
In this sequel to our “Man vs. Beast” episode, we answer the internet’s burning question: Could 100 unarmed men defeat a silverback gorilla? Turns out—yeah, they actually could. And that revelation cracks open a deeper psychological truth.

Tonight we’re rewinding the VHS of pop culture to ask one simple question: Whatever happened to all the boobs? In the 1980s and early ’90s, R-rated flicks were basically a wet-T-shirt contest with a plot: think Porky’s meets Friday the 13th with bonu... more
Just wanted to say a massive thank you! As an Australian male social worker student this is a great, engaging resource for myself. This pod past is inspiring, as I would love to eventually replicate an Australian version one day. I really enjoy the topics which approach taboo, yet essential subjects and issues which many mainstream social worker podcasts leave gaps.

I discovered your show last year and have come to really enjoy it. The recent episode on social work and gun violence had thoughtful perspective. I love how you guys are less idealistic and more realistic, sticking to the evidence base as a guide for what’s effective and what’s not. I also simply enjoy your banter…no joke, if I lived closer to you guys and Utah, I’d definitely be applying to work for Alpha! I think you guys would be fun to collaborate with!
Can you PLEASE do an episode on juvenile offenders??? I’m a child welfare worker and we have so many kids (10-18) in SOMB for things like fondling siblings or “consensual” acts. I’m confused by how these cases are treated by the criminal justice system (in CO we arrest/convict at 10) and what treatment is like, as well as how likely these kids are to reoffend. I’m interested in your thoughts and any other info you have that would be informative for other social workers in my position!
