This guy pulls no punches. I am a mechanic and shop owner. Love his insight on the mechanic business, and the inner workings of what goes on in the shop, and what the outside world thinks about us. Entertainment and informative.
I’ve been a technician for 9 years, have mixed experience in heavy duty diesel and light duty automotive. Was really excited for this show, listened to a couple episodes and less than impressed. Not everyone in the industry is out to get you.
Just put in my resignation with my atrocious service manager and am moving to a salaried position at a BBB garage. Thanks for the smack upside the head about realizing my worth, Uncle Jimmy!
This podcast is the best! Totally can relate and just wish I got to work with him!
Uncle jimmy you are by far one of the coolest and most REAL person/tech I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening and learning the BMW trade from. As an advisor whose dealt with advisors thinking they can judge a persons pocket and make the judgement call themselves is absolute CRAP it’s infuriating and unprofessional.
Keep up the awesome podcast work sir.

AI prompts, data-backed anecdotes, and practical tips about documenting repairs, improving communications, and leveraging video to build trust frequently surface, along with arguments for better compensation, mentorship, and career paths within shops. The show often blends humor with hard truths about management, culture, and the trade, making it particularly relevant for shop owners, technicians, and managers aiming to im... more
