Great
I first caught these chaps on their sister Shogun podcast. After watching the stellar first episode of The Penguin I went on the hunt for a decent analysis podcast. What a lovely surprise I got when I hit play and heard the delightful dulcets of these two gents.
Expect attention to detail and illuminating insights, the hosts know their stuff, have a great rapport, and are just an all round good hang. Thanks for all your work Derek and John.
I just started rewatching Gotham and have been looking for a companion podcast. There are a bunch to choose from, but this one is by far the best I’ve come across. It’s the perfect balance of summary, background comic info, knowledgeable speculation, and critical analysis. Great job, guys! I wish I had found this sooner!
this is the gotham podcast I have been looking for.
I've listened to this pretty much since Season 2 began, I then went back and listened to all the previous podcast for Season 1 aand before that - the podcast is that good.
Your hosts, Derek and John, are hugely enthusiastic and listenable to and go out of their way to make everyone feel part of the community for 'Gotham'.
Links to comics, or other Batman films, are highlighted and referenced. There is interviews with the current and former cast. There's speculation and intrigue at every opp... more
I really enjoy hearing your take on Gotham. I just started watching the show and have been able to listen to your podcasts from back in 2015. Your work is appreciated.

I absolutely adore these guys, and have been listening to them AGAIN as I rewatch “Gotham” with my fiancé. Soon, my fella and I will be watching the fabulous Marvel shows on Netflix, and I intend to listen to these gents’ podcasts every step of the way.
i’ve been loving binge listening to your reviews and interviews, can’t wait to see your reviews when season five comes out!
:)
This is not a recap show, and for that I am grateful! The guys point out a few key elements from the episode (a turning point, plot element, character arc) and talk about those in depth. You end up reviewing parts of the show as well as go back to other episodes for parallels. They are thoughtful which makes it an interesting hour, not filled with mindless droning and rehashing each scene as it played out.

These "detectives" not only have the most creative way for rating episodes, but also recap the episode in an enjoyable yet digestible one hour podcast. The case note method completes the whole detective feel as well as adding bits of the Batma mythos to enhance the podcast for those of us only familiar with the show. The piece of their podcast I enjoy the most is the 'Feedback' portion because that is the time where fans express their opinions on the episode and it brings another interpretation ... more
Don't know how I didn't find this until season 4, but it truly is the best Gotham recap I have heard.
These guys are the best. If you're into Gotham, the Fox Network tv show airing on UK Channel 5 when not on hiatus, and you like listening to two guys who are fun and thoughtful, know what they're talking about without going off into technical geekland (too often) and who are not afraid to joke around, this is the podcast for you. The atmosphere is informal and light and very enjoyable.

John and Derek your hosts run through their top 5 points which cover the recent episodes, any notes and Detective Bullocks quote of the week. Perhaps, more importantly, they both come across as genuine, sincerely humble admirers of the Dark Knight and his city. Kudos!
