・快川紹喜は、武田家の者を匿い織田信長に歯向かったことで、寺を焼き討ちされて焼死した。
・後に信長自身も本能寺の変で火に包まれて命を落とすが、その時の辞世の句は「是非に及ばず（＝仕方がない）」だった。
・やはり、火は、あ・つ・い！！

・横浜で起きた生麦事件をきっかけに、当時世界最強のイギリスの軍艦７隻が薩摩に攻めてきた。
・薩摩藩はイギリス軍を奇襲するためにスイカ売り決死隊を送り込んだが失敗に終わり、薩英戦争が勃発。
・薩英戦争は勝敗がつかず、イギリスと薩摩藩は相思相愛の関係となり、イギリスのバックアップで明治維新を為せた。
・もしあの時、イギリス軍がスイカを食べていたら、明治維新はなり得なかったかもしれない。

・豊臣秀吉が初めてやった事といえば、刀狩令、太閤検地、兵農分離などたくさんあるが…将棋もその一つ。
・将棋で最前列の駒は兵士、二列目の「飛車」と「角」は武器を、そして最後列の駒は守るべき財宝を表している。
・「金」と「銀」はそのまま金銀、「桂馬」はシナモン、「香車」は香木、そして「玉」は家宝を表していた。
・秀吉が「玉」ではなく、「王」が良いと言い出したことで、片方の「玉」から「、」を取って「王将」が生まれた。
