  • Spiritual crisis episode

I am writing this review after listening to the spiritual crisis 2 part series. I turned it on this morning as I’m struggling with my mom having sepsis, a major stroke, and on a ventilator in the ICU. I’m trying to cope and not lose my faith and make sense of why god is allowing this to happen. Thank you for having an episode of another woman experience such heartbreak and loss. It gave me an hour of peace listening. I hope you can include my mom in your prayers!

  • Dawn even after the darkest night

I really enjoyed hearing Melissa Harrison’s testimony. Your story is a beautiful reminder that even after the darkest night, the dawn brings a faith so rich you’ll never want to lose it. Thank you for showing how God can use even our deepest grief for good. I look forward to exploring more episodes of God Hears Her as I was very encouraged by this episode.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Community of Belonging (Amy Julia Becker)
Q: Amy Julia, how did your faith journey evolve from an external to an internal experience, and how did that shape your work on belonging?
Her faith journey moved from an outward, performance-based godliness to a deep, internal sense of God's presence, which shifted her view toward embodying Imago Dei in every person and toward creating environments where everyone belongs, especially those who are different from her own background.
God of Hope (Clementine Sikiri)
Q: What brought you hope when everything felt hopeless?
Knowing that God is capable of anything, and that He has a purpose for my life, helped me to persevere; my accident confirmed my purpose.
God of Hope (Clementine Sikiri)
Q: What does it mean to be a refugee?
Refugees do not choose their circumstances; it's a matter of life or death, and only 1% of them are eventually resettled.
Refining a Broken Marriage (Justin and Trisha Davis)
Q: What would you speak to that in regards to building something with your spouse while missing connection and intimacy?
It's important to build your identity around Christ rather than your roles; otherwise, you may realize too late that you're not truly connected.
Refining a Broken Marriage (Justin and Trisha Davis)
Q: What was that like for you? How were you able to even think about trying to restore a marriage when you were hurt so deeply?
The ache is physical, more than just emotional, and it feels like a nightmare you can't wake up from.
