Hi Rebecca, hi Jason, just wanted to reach out and tell you how much I love your show and all the work you put into it. I so appreciate how often you guys drop new episodes and it always makes my day. I’ve been listening to you since the very beginning and just find the tone that you set is so unique to this particular genre. It’s a special kind of art form to tell dark stories without it ever being too grim. That’s a breath of fresh air for someone who listens to a lot of podcast in this partic... more
It’s really enjoyable with the range of topics but the “breaks” in the middle are just irritating in a way that feels intentional as if you pay it’s removed. I want to learn about the topic not 10+ minutes of wittering in the middle which is often nonsensical and just to fill space at it clearly can be removed as it is for subscribers so it’s not important to the show. The chat just ruins the flow of the show.

Great subjects, but ones that have been largely done to death, and they bring NOTHING new to the table. Listened to several and its like a lighter version of other pods that actually go in depth. And they spend too much time being jokey in a not-funny way. I literally learned nothing at all that I could not have read on Wikipedia. What is the point? Point- there is none
These are great subjects, but most have been done to death. I am not sure what you are bringing to the table with incredibly short episodes about well worn subjects here.

Hauntingly engaging mix of true crime, odd history, and paranormal tales delivered with sharp banter and humor. Conversations span from AI-enabled digital legacies and high-profile mysteries to cultural retrospectives, often anchored by two hosts who balance meticulous research with playful storytelling. Notable strengths include a broad topic range, concise episodes, and a Patreon-led ad model that funds ad-free listening; however, listeners sometimes cite lengthy mid-show chatter and ads that interrupt flow. This mix makes it appealing for fans of eclectic, story-driven investigations and fast-paced historical deep-dives, while sponsors may appreciate steady, engaged audiences across niche-history and crime topics.
