  • South Side and Proud!

While I first learned about Palace in 1987, over here in the States, there was hardly any way for an unathletic young kid to learn more about, much less watch (or understand) English football. A few decades later, much of that has changed. Sure, I may be an unathletic middle-aged guy, but from one south side to another, I cheer my Palace boys with pride. And the show gives me an unfiltered perspective on Palace, which is refreshing with all these overproduced podcasts waiting for us to subscribe... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

670 | FELIX WHITE ON CUP FINAL ANNIVERSARY
Q: Can you give us a quick overview of the book and how it came to be?
Felix explains how his life in music intersected with football, how touring led him to seek a football-related project, and how the FA Cup journey provided a spine for writing a road-trip-style narrative across England.
667 | STEVE KEMBER ON STOCKPORT 2001
Q: Was it a free hit? Was it a kind of free hit situation for you, given the pressure as you took over the team just to stay up?
Kember explains that while there was pressure, his familiarity with many players and the caretaker experience gave him confidence to implement a proactive tactical shift, including a back three and a front three to unleash the attackers, which paid off in the two decisive games.
665 | Furbo
Q: Do you think Munoz did the right thing with the goal under those circumstances?
Yes, most contributors felt Munoz acted within the rules when the ball was in play, and while it sparked controversy, the overall view was that it was a legitimate goal highlighting the complexities of advantage and officiating in football.
665 | Furbo
Q: What are your thoughts on long throws and their effectiveness?
The consensus is that while long throws can create occasional chances, they are generally not a high-yield tactic and can slow the game down; teams keep using them due to habit and coaching ideas, but results are mixed.
653 | MARTIN KELLY INTERVIEW
Q: What's life like now? Are you officially retired?
I've officially retired but was hopeful for a comeback post-injury.
