Michael Coast's PICK-UP and more from AWA
Q: Why did you choose to put the protagonist in the mindset of an influencer and pickup artist?
The concept started from a murder in the background, and the influencer lens felt like a natural way to explore how cameras and social media shape perception, while keeping the noir tone grounded in a relatable modern voice.
Understanding Cyclops with Alex Paknadel
Q: How has your experience with other characters informed this Cyclops narrative?
It has allowed me to explore Cyclops's emotional landscape through action rather than dialogue.
Understanding Cyclops with Alex Paknadel
Q: Is there a specific theme you're exploring with Cyclops in this story?
Yes, exploring Cyclops's vulnerabilities and showing him in a less controlled and more primal state.
Understanding Cyclops with Alex Paknadel
Q: What was your relationship with Cyclops before writing this series?
My relationship with Cyclops has been long-standing, shaped by early experiences with the X-Men comics.
Enter Macabre Valley with Zack Quaintance
Q: How does the creative process work with your artists?
Zack allows artists like Anna and Brad to take a lot of creative liberty while providing them with the narrative framework they need.
