The great strength of From the Hip is that the host Benjy Mudie IS Mr Music in South Africa. Not only does he have extensive institutional knowledge, but he lived and breathed the trials and tribulations of the musicians he talks to. He doesn't interview so much as have in-depth conversations, adding his story to the narrative without ever forgetting his guest has the spotlight. Such a joy to listen to!
