In communities across the U.S., from small towns to big cities, there used to be a lot more places like the ol’ neighborhood bar. It was a place you could come after work, to talk with your friends & neighbors about the news of the day, to have a few laughs, and maybe a few drinks.
In those days, you could even talk about politics a little bit without causing a bar brawl. These days, the people in... more

I enjoy a majority of the guest. I like Jody and enjoy her insight on topics. I’ve been listening to Jody on Stephanie Miller’s show and Bob Cesca’s show. Shawn I believe just likes to hear himself talk. I’m sure he’s a nice person, but he talks over everyone and too much. I’ve now started fast forwarding a majority of the show and when I stop it’s still Shawn talking, until the last half hour when the guest come on. Even then it gets to where I can’t finish because majority of the talking is Sh... more
An enjoyable listen, covering times that are not at all enjoyable. Well done. Recommend.
not great. I gave it 3 weeks because I love Jodie so much but the problem is Sean. he's not a good host. he blabs too much, doesn't let the guests speak, tells awful jokes only he laughs at, repeats himself incessantly (tell me about Meredith Shiner again why don't you?), and tells long-winded stories that go nowhere like a senile grandpa. fine as background noise and not a top tier political podcast.
Sean is settling down and communicating his experience and perspective so much better. I think he is finding his podcast voice.
I really wanted to like this podcast because I am a big fan of Jody, from her previous podcast, the Stephanie Miller show and Bob Cessca, but I couldn’t last more than a few weeks. Jody is so good as always, but Shawn is way too “folksie” for me. He is constantly talking about Nebraska….who cares about Nebraska?
He is annoying and sounds like a Dad, on a 1950s sitcom. Please more Jody and a lot less Shawn.
