The podcast has turned from discussion on the content itself into a “state of the MCU” for every episode, it’s okay to not like certain Shows or movies but it seems like the hosts are more concerned about what randoms on Twitter and the cultural impact of the MCU is and waste a lot of time talking about what “casuals” think and how they will respond to certain shows. Long time listener and first time writing in. Big MCU fan here and Season 2 of What If is probably my favorite MCU thing since Endgame. I’m surprised that you guys had so much trouble with it! It’s animation! It’s a cartoon! You guys are thinking too hard about it, maybe as your roles as podcasters. As a casual viewer of this stuff, it was just fun and epic! Y’all, it’s ok for Marvel stuff to not be good and for Marvel overall to still be great. Two things can be true and not mutually exclusive. Yes, Marvel absolutely is in a tough spot with feature films right now, we are far from the highs achieved with back to back to back hits from basically Civil War > Endgame and the classics like Iron Man. Been listening to Friends From Work for a little over a year now and I can say with confidence that this is the most enjoyable MCU podcast I've come across. These guys are thoughtful, funny, and entertaining and stand out from the countless MCU podcasts and hosts out there. more
