  • An Important Message For Our Time

I am a big fan of the Freedom Challenge podcast having been part of this movement of women seeking to end human trafficking for the past five years. Following the excellent series on Biblical justice and how that compares to social justice, now Tracy Daugherty shares how she is applying the principles of Biblical justice in her own life during this time when healing is needed for racial injustice. How can we be a loving, healing presence in this world that is divided? She shares in a powerf... more

  • The Freedom Challenge

    I love The Freedom Challenge.

I participated on the first Freedom Challenge which at the time was called the Freedom Climb to Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2012. So thankful to Cathey Anderson for being obedient to God’s vision. It was a privilege and honor to lead one of 4 teams, the Pinkie Team. What a God-adventure of breaking down strongholds, setting the captives free, bringing awareness and funds and freedom to girls exploited and trafficked for sex. Proverbs 31:8-9

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S6 EP12: Brewing Change: Turning Everyday Passions into Advocacy with Jenny Barber at Talitha Coffee
Q: Would you please share about your experience and your journey and how Talitha Coffee came to be?
Jenny describes turning a personal history and a husband's hobby into a mission-driven coffee business that provides meaningful employment for survivors, builds a fair supply chain, and scales through strategic partnerships and care networks.
S5 EP15: Ascend Together: Writing a Bible Study with Lisa Da Silva and Tracy Daugherty
Q: How did you decide to collaborate and write this Bible study together?
We prayed, sat with the idea, aligned our goals, and then mapped out practicalities like scheduling days, researching, and leveraging each other's strengths to create a finished product.
S6 EP11: A Father’s Day Call for Men in Justice Work with Zach Sudfeld
Q: What would you say are some of the learnings that you're noticing about men becoming involved in this area, advocating for vulnerable and oppressed women and children?
The guest explains that the deeper learning is shifting from 'doing for God' to being a part of what God is already doing, recognizing ego and the desire to be the hero, and emphasizing humility, presence, and serving behind the scenes to support those on the front lines.
S6 EP9: Heartache & Glory in Advocating for Survivors with Wheeler Fisher
Q: What does a typical day look like for someone coordinating survivor support in a restorative program?
It involves a multi-disciplinary approach: coordinating medical and psychiatric care, assisting with insurance and benefits, helping with basic needs (food, shelter), and ensuring the program fits each survivor's needs while maintaining dignity and empowerment.
S6 EP9: Heartache & Glory in Advocating for Survivors with Wheeler Fisher
Q: What first drew you to this line of work and how did your heart spark toward advocacy?
A long-standing awareness of trafficking, shaped by growing up in a community where local groups like Exodus Cry were raising awareness. The drive became real through education in trauma and through internships that exposed the harsh realities faced by survivors, motivating a hands-on path to help.
