Bảo Châu Ngô est né au Vietnam en 1972. Il a fait toutes ses études universitaires en France. Admis à l'École normale supérieure en 1992 par la voie du concours international, il a ensuite obtenu un doctorat sous la direction de Gérard Laumon à l'université Paris-Sud en 1997.
