  • Florida is the national champion

What a great podcast. It’s been a while since I listened to it, but it had so many facets and history. If you haven’t listened to this podcast, I highly recommend it!

  • An hour of wrong

Every time I hear these fellas talk about hoops their prognostications always turn out to be incredibly incorrect. Clayton isn’t a true point guard? Maryland is going to be Florida’s biggest challenge? And those are only two of the latest. Don’t buy it if you can’t drive it, guys. I guess critical thinking is dead.

  • Why the trashing of Walter Clayton?

You know I love the deep dives into Gator Hoops you guys offer! You’re the best! But why do feel the need to keep comparing the potential PG recruits to Walter Clayton, in the end to only trash Clayton saying you prefer them over a guy who is ALREADY on the roster? What good purpose does that serve? Why not compare their shooting skills or FT % to that of Clayton if you want to be fair about it? Let’s hear that next episode! You seemed happy when we got him. Now, he continues to diminish, in y... more

  • Wrong facts on Walter Clayton

Love this podcast! You guys are awesome. You put the work in. You are informed. That is why it was so disappointing to hear Eric echo the Sam trope about Walter Clayton switching to basketball from football. Granted, Eric said Andrew Spivey was his source so the error is not in Eric, other than him trusting his GC colleague.

The facts are Walter stopped playing football after his sophomore season. He decided to follow his heart and focus solely on basketball despite the fact he had many D1 offe... more

  • Questions & Takes

Where is the brilliance of Todd Golden? He is getting out-coached in multiple games. Against Auburn he ran a last play that asked Castleton to do something he failed to do all night! Did he really think CC could dribble-drive to the basket from the top of the key without help defense coming? Why not do what was effective? Let Castleton pass out of high post to Reeves (or Fudge from left) cutting to the basket. They likely get fouled or score.

And the Jones 3 on the prior play was unnecessary ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Championship Retention, Chinyelu at the NBA Combine, Contracts: Graham Hall (247 Sports) joins the show
Q: What are Rueben Chinyelu's prospects after the combine and how might that affect his decision to stay at Florida?
Rueben has a path to a higher draft position if he showcases well at the combine, but his decision will hinge on a balance between potential higher earnings now and the long-term upside of developing further at Florida; factors like representation, potential two-way contracts, and a realistic ceiling in the NBA strongly influence whether he returns.
Gators Roll in Rupp; SEC Tournament Preview with Max Barr
Q: Which semifinal matchups do you think set up best for Florida to advance, based on current form and injuries?
Florida could face a Tennessee team with some injuries, and a Vanderbilt matchup that could be tough, but Florida has shown depth and consistency that could carry them through to the final if they maintain discipline and pace.
Gators Roll in Rupp; SEC Tournament Preview with Max Barr
Q: How do you see Kentucky's chances with Kam Williams possibly out or limited, and what would that mean for Florida's path?
Kam Williams' status changes the dynamic for Kentucky; if he's limited, Florida's path through the tournament becomes more favorable, but Kentucky's talent and depth keep them dangerous regardless.
Gators Roll in Rupp; SEC Tournament Preview with Max Barr
Q: What's your biggest non-Florida storyline entering the SEC Tournament?
The chaotic potential of the second-round games on Thursday, where multiple bubble teams like Auburn, Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Missouri, and others could shift dramatically, making for a must-watch day.
Gator Boys are Hot, but 2 huge tests loom; Evan Miyakawa joins the show
Q: What is the current landscape of college basketball regarding top teams?
Evan discusses a separation among elite teams, identifying Michigan, Duke, Arizona, Houston, and Florida as top contenders.
