  • Above average

There are many gator football podcasts. This one is not the best but far from the worst - one of the better ones actually, despite the presence of Nick. Currently 4 talking heads - Dan, who kind of hosts/keeps the show on the rails. His self deprecating style (outside of when he claims insider knowledge that is more wrong than right) is a breath of fresh air compared to Nick who brings nothing but self back patting for contacts and info he cannot share. He hasn’t been good on any show ( such... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

433: Davin Davidson Commits! Interview with his QB Coach Sage Hansard
Q: What went into the rapid recruitment and Davin's decision to commit to Florida, given there were many other offers?
Sage discusses the alignment of Davin's talents with Florida's program and staff, the family's comfort with the coaching group, the positive experiences at visits, and the timing of the acceptance after evaluating multiple high-profile programs, portraying it as a well-considered choice rather than a rushed one.
431: "Scarlight, Scarbright" ft. Josh Newberg, Ben Chase, and Antonio Riles
Q: What are your thoughts on Florida's quarterback recruitment and development?
The focus should be on a quarterback who can efficiently execute a game plan with solid 10- to 20-yard throws, maintain turnover control, and grow within the coaching system rather than chasing a big-game-breaker, at least in the near term.
431: "Scarlight, Scarbright" ft. Josh Newberg, Ben Chase, and Antonio Riles
Q: How important is high school recruiting now versus the portal in the NIL era?
Recruiting remains vital; high school talent provides a foundational pipeline while the portal complements it, with both feeding into overall roster quality and depth.
428: "We Lost Jerome's" ft. Josh Pate and Neil Blackmon
Q: What is John Somerall expected to change or improve in his first year as Florida's head coach?
Somerall is expected to bring a higher level of aggressiveness and a clear, demanding culture that translates into better on-field performance quickly, with focus on competitiveness in year one, one-possession games, and improved late-season results.
425: "Hello, Corry" ft. Pete Nakos and Brandon Harris
Q: Pete, what was your initial opinion on Somerall for the Florida job and how do you feel about it now?
Pete explains that initial speculation included Lane Kiffin and that over time Somerall grew on him as he saw the staff's approach and the open line of communication with trusted figures, culminating in confidence Florida could build a winning program.
