I am a self-styled jazz-blues piano player who has been a poetry writer (not a poet) all his life and who as recently in the last 10 years (I’m a mountain on his 75 year around the stars), has developed his own style of writing fusing his piano chops with the chops in words written as if they were stingy gold.
Hearing this adventure has brought me to tears in a somewhat religious way due to the strength of the purpose, the script, the cleanness of the way Ismay moves through her search for hers... more
It’s a beautiful, leisurely meditation on Lucinda’s life work through a young artist who is deeply inspired by her art. I’m always delighted when a fellow young person wants to talk about LW.
Great to hear Avery on the mic in this solid road-trip show that digs into the point of music, art, self-expression and direction. Check it !
Astounding, sincere, honest, informative, tender and brave. Feeling grateful I got to listen and can’t wait to watch.
I’m really enjoying this podcast. Saw some memorable Lucinda shows. Her 40th birthday at Headliners in Louisville was rocking good fun with her whole family there, two days after 9/11 at Lexington Opera House was raw and emotional, the LSD tour with Steve Earle and Dwight Yoakam was a trip. I have seen Lu at outdoor festivals, theaters, and bars. She always delivers.
