  • Finally found this podcast

Glad they finally linked this on the SCN daily podcast list. It had been mentioned on some SCN shows, and I had been meaning to look into it, but I never got around to searching for it. Some sort of pinned guide of all the shows and formats would help. BAD recommending look into “name of whichever show” doesn’t stick in my old brain. Didn’t even realize there already had been 7 podcasts. At least I have a backlog to go through. Love the daily Steeler overload on BTSC and SCN, but I really like ... more

  • Great Podcast

Awesome to listen to a podcast about NFL through a coach’s eyes. Very different podcast than most about NFL - rather than a sports writer, you actually learn the game from an experienced coach. Highly recommend this podcast.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Call Sheet: QB development, and the challenge of jumping to the NFL, w/ Coach Paul Callahan
Q: How does a quarterback handle blitz and pressure when coming from college to the NFL?
Attitude toward blitz, mental readiness, and a clear plan for reads are crucial; the quarterback must identify one option, slide to a safe pocket, and throw quickly, avoiding turnovers or sacks.
Call Sheet: QB development, and the challenge of jumping to the NFL, w/ Coach Paul Callahan
Q: What are some of the things all these guys will have to acclimate to as they become professionals at quarterback?
They'll need to adjust to faster game speed, learn under-center footwork and reads, and rely on a veteran-rich environment to develop. Reps and repetition, plus a quarterback-friendly system, will be essential for long-term growth.
Draft Dynasty Podcast: Highs and Lows from the 2026 NFL Combine
Q: What stood out at the Combine from a scouting perspective?
Coach Smith highlights the depth in positions like interior offensive line and safety, notes the interviews' importance over on-field drills, and points to how college coaching prepares players for the NFL as a factor in evaluating draft stock.
The Way We See It: Potential NFL cut candidates as the league year approaches
Q: Do you think he still has what it takes to be a starting caliber quarterback in the NFL?
Yes, he's been unfairly criticized, and I would put him among the top 20 quarterbacks currently available.
The Way We See It: Potential NFL cut candidates as the league year approaches
Q: Do you think that he is even a viable option for anyone in the league?
Yes, he played better than his backups towards the end of the previous season, and there are teams that might be interested.
