在很久以前的台灣，有一位小女孩叫做孫阿滿，他有一個綽號臭寶。她笑起來像太陽一樣，最喜歡在巷口的樹下，跟阿公一起玩「丟沙包」。有一天，阿公忽然倒下了，被送去醫院，從此就沒有回來。
臭寶每天抱著那顆阿公送她的沙包，坐在樹下不說話。她不懂，為什麼人會突然不見？她問媽媽阿公去哪裡了？
到了七夕的晚上，天上的星星特別亮。臭寶在床上輾轉睡不著，忽然間，一陣微風吹來，窗戶咔一聲打開了。是七娘媽——掌管是台灣民間信仰中一位專門守護小孩與掌管兒童命運的女神。
