Razorlight - Johnny Borrell interview (2019)
Q: First things first, Johnny. How are you?
I'm very well, thank you for asking. I'm doing good and feeling reflective about the journey from early songs to the newer material.
Blue Medusa interview - Alissa White-Gluze about forming a new band, painting +more! (2026)
Q: How do painting and other arts fit into this project?
Painting is a key part of the album artwork and creative expression, with the next single featuring a painting by the artist that ties into the music's themes.
Blue Medusa interview - Alissa White-Gluze about forming a new band, painting +more! (2026)
Q: Why form a band instead of releasing under your own name?
Solo projects were someone else's idea; I love being in a band and collaborating, which fits the Blue Medusa concept as a true group effort.
Blue Medusa interview - Alissa White-Gluze about forming a new band, painting +more! (2026)
Q: What was for you? Because, well, the first single that you released with Checkmate, what was the story behind the song? When did you write it?
It was written just a few months ago, and the whole album is lyrically drawn from intense emotion and experience; Checkmate is the first in a series of singles built from that process.
Lambchop interview (2019)
Q: Looking back at the album FLOTUS, how did you view it in terms of your development and the new direction you were exploring?
I see it as transitional, a period where I was starting to apply new ideas and understand how to use new tools like Ableton, which reshaped how I approached making music on the next record.
