Ulta shares are down, but the beauty industry still carries the weight of luxury fashion on its shoulders. Nick has more bad news about microplastics, plus Annie’s instagram algorithm has become entirely evangelical christian content.

Annie and Nick give off very “cool kid” vibes in the best way. The topics are interesting. I’m obsessed with the lack of ads. I hate the product recc sound effect because it interrupts the calm sound of the rest of the episode but also love that it feels really out of place/weird. (Also, why is Annie called Diamond?) Five stars.
Your voices soothe me. I could listen to you talk about anything
Nick, your comments about Kat von D’s baptism and religion were very hurtful and ignorant. People do find God later in life, not everyone gets baptized as a baby (when they have no choice to choose their religion) and baptism is the way they confirm their choice. Even Jesus was baptized as an adult. And yes, pools are used because we’re not getting dipped in the Atlantic Ocean or a polluted lake. Also, Kat is minding her business and not bothering anyone. I’m glad she has found peace.
I love this show. Annie and Nick have a great dynamic they’re both sharp, smart, self aware and just funny. However Annie - your take on China being the reason they’re banning TT… girl the US has been stealing our data since day 1 via social media. It’s not about protecting Americans, china isn’t controlling a “narrative”, it’s about AIPAC stopping the free Palestine movement and how strong it’s become. You’re so smart I was really disappointed in that luke warm take….
Discovered via the Fat Mascara cross-over episode and I’ve been binging since. I love that they cover beauty and pop culture, something different than the other beauty podcasts I consume.
