Paul & Randy address a terrific hypothetical meant to create a dissonance between your intellect and the heart of a fan. Under what circumstances would we tolerate a playoff berth?
Then they discuss what we should look for against the Texas State B... more

Rewriting this review bc I have no one else to make this joke to.
The new Will Ferrell Netflix series Hawk - go watch it - Will Ferrell breaking hand but keeps playing golf and after every swing he dramatically reach to the pain and could not be reminded of watching Adrian Rodriguez swing the bat this year.
If you could have beers with just two guys....it wouldn’t be Paul Wadlington and Randy Boone. Between Randy’s Venezuela baseball stories and Paul’s workout tangents, you likely would not get a word in edgewise. HOWEVER, if you enjoy thoughtful, fair, and sometimes even well-informed takes on the state of the Longhorn Nation, as well as whimsical observations on the human condition, then EGAT is your safe place during these (choose your favorite adjective) times.
Love the show. Can’t say definitively when they stopped doing it, but I definitely remember seeing the Slippery Rock score being posted during my time in undergrad (‘01-‘05.)
Listener/reader since the barking canonical dissection/manifesto of the Tom Herman loss to Maryland at FedEx field.
Give me your best and by best I mean worse, Tom Herman story.
These two act like they get off work every day, then in their spare time, learn more about Texas football than anyone, even Texas’ coaches. Paul and former mlb man Randy, who I’m convinced is contractually obligated to act dumber than Paul? I like the pod and I will be listening but these guys sound totally undatable, obnoxious and average

Two male hosts provide long-form, opinionated sports analysis with a strong Texas focus. Across episodes, they blend deep Xs and Os football breakdowns with personal anecdotes, broad sports commentary, and blunt takes on NIL, transfer portals, and coaching moves. The vibe is conversational, irreverent, and deeply knowledgeable, often weaving sponsor reads into banter. A standout edge is the dual-host dynamic—combative yet humorous—alongside guests and cross-sport discussions, giving fans a candid, data-informed flavor that appeals to serious college football fans and general sports enthusiasts alike.
