  • Excellent info from a knowledgeable and personable source!

Been listening to various episodes of Marc’s pod for awhile now. (I work in audiobooks and narration.) Marc not only has great insight on the world of VO; he always has excellent guests! The episode subjects are timely, relevant, and educational. I listen to A LOT of VO podcasts and this is one of my favourites. (Gotta use the Canadian spelling there for my fellow Great White Norther!)

  • Super helpful, motivating, and educational

Marc is incredibly generous with his time, his talent, and his knowledge. There are very few informational podcasts where I get excited when I see a new episode drop, but the VOpreneur Podcast does that for me.

I always learn something, or come away with something new to try in my own business, and the way he presents the information is helpful and succinct.

Thank you, Marc! Keep ‘em coming!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How to Build a Voice Acting Brand Without Showing Your Face with Rosanna Pilcher
Q: How can she market the pseudonym effectively without showing her face, and still promote the books and authors?
The host suggests creating a separate social presence for the pseudonym (distinct accounts and branding), using POV filming or silhouettes, developing visual signatures (avatar, colors, logo), and building content pillars around the books while leveraging the author's content and back catalog.
How to Build a Voice Acting Brand Without Showing Your Face with Rosanna Pilcher
Q: What is the question you have for me?
The guest asks how to market a pseudonym when all available content centers on the book cover or audio clip, and how to promote the pseudonym without publicly revealing the real identity.
Don't Sit on the Sidelines Waiting for Your VO Demo with Ali Lazzeri
Q: What is your question for today?
Ali asks how to prepare and market herself for corporate narration demos before she has a fully produced corporate demo, including whether to pursue interim samples and how to leverage existing work.
Put Yourself in Rooms That Make You Uncomfortable with Terry Briscoe
Q: So here's my question, and as you know this, but I'm sure you have been timing it. For the last five years, I've been just pestering you with questions, and so that means I have now reached, I have crossed the threshold of my fifth year. And now I'm starting to see more and better opportunities coming from all my efforts and everything that I've done up to this point. Thanks for all the advice. What next steps would you recommend for me to take to get to that next of our level, to take that next leap?
Focus first on coaching with the right people, then expand through networking and exposure to higher-level rooms. Don't just accumulate credentials; seek mentors who push you hard, and place yourself in environments where you're uncomfortable but learning. Build a strong why, stay humble, and keep upgrading your network and skills to open doors that match your growing capability.
The DocuShort Strategy: One Video, Multiple Marketing Wins with Leigh Laird
Q: How long does it take to develop one video from topic to finished product?
Typically one to two hours, with variations depending on topic and available stock footage, plus time spent on editing and optimization.
