  • Really Bad Podcast

Very Bad Podcast. Not a lot “new” but a rehash of decades old stuff not “hers.” Law of attraction, not a big fan of, Vision Board—very old idea, but fun if you haven’t done. one. Waking up to thank a silk pillowcase? meh. Not a great episode to ever want to replay with all your other great podcasts that are fresh more recent insights

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Choosing the Right Partner | Boroughs and Burbs Ep. 231
Q: How do you handle value engineering while keeping the design extraordinary and sustainable within budget?
Daniele Busca and Tim Rooney discuss starting with the owner/developer budget, using Scavolini's standardized data-driven parts to maintain efficiency, and making design trades that preserve aesthetic and durability while meeting financial constraints.
Choosing the Right Partner | Boroughs and Burbs Ep. 231
Q: Why Scavolini? What makes Scavolini the right cabinetry partner given there are many options in New York City?
Tim Rooney highlights Scavolini's strong market reputation, openness to customization, and the ability to collaborate closely with Italian engineers to adapt manufacturing for unique needs like 10-foot-tall cabinets and special hardware, which helps create truly distinctive kitchens.
Adaptive Reuse | Boroughs and Burbs Ep. 234
Q: Why is adaptive reuse gaining traction now?
Because large swaths of office and retail space are currently underutilized or distressed, creating opportunities to repurpose into residential or other high-demand uses, especially when financing conditions align and there's a willingness to navigate zoning and regulatory hurdles.
Adaptive Reuse | Boroughs and Burbs Ep. 234
Q: How are we defining adaptive reuse?
Adaptive reuse is taking a building the market has rejected as economically unviable in its current use and reimagining it for a use that the market needs, such as converting old office or industrial space into residential or mixed-use, thereby restoring economic productivity.
Bal Harbour and Surfside | Boroughs and Burbs Ep. 228
Q: What factors attract buyers to Rivage and how does it compare with the Four Seasons in Surfside?
Rivage attracts buyers with a boutique, exclusive approach—less density, greater privacy, private underground parking, high-end amenities, and a carefully curated team. Four Seasons Surfside leverages its legacy and access to an established social club ecosystem, but Rivage emphasizes a private, home-like experience with underground parking and individualized layouts.
