  • Great podcast

Very informative and fact based. If you’re wanting to learn about the outlook of the energy sector of Alberta if not all of Canada, it’s super relevant.

He tends to get a little to passionate about the energy sector and can get frustrated by anti-intellectualism but overall takes very grounded and facts based takes from what I’ve gathered.

    Highly recommend.

  • Markham needs to be a better listener

Wow is this podcast ever frustrating to listen to, Markham is very good at talking about what he knows but he tends to expound and get on his soapbox without much regard to what his guest’s expertise is. I’m listening to an episode about BC’s emissions plan and he’s going on about BC hydro despite his guest being an expert on building emissions. Electricity generation is responsible for less than 1% of BC’s emissions so it seems a bit silly to go off about BChydro and then throw a question back ... more

  • Cutting edge of the… um, ACCELERATING energy transition

Tragically, the climate crisis is accelerating faster than anyone other than science fiction writers had forecast just a few short years ago. At the same time, however, the energy transition away from fossil fuels is also accelerating much faster than predictions. Markham brings us news from the front lines, along with the context and analysis that comes from decades of journalism on the energy sectors.

  • Great idea, needs better guests

Great idea for a podcast, and the host is good, but some of the guests are close to lunatic fringe renewable advocates. Guests that have a more practical and balanced view of the energy complex would help a lot.
