I feel like I’m never going to hear you guys again, and I want you to know you’ve been a tremendous comfort through all of this. I’m very sorry you’re not ok. I’m not either
A half arsed political gambling podcast that has evolved into a kaleidoscope of the intensely fringe hobbies and peccadilloes of the two hosts. Lively and surreal, it is fantastic source of culture references. Mostly, it is a pleasure to bathe in warmth of the two hosts’ life-long friendship.
You guys make my wednesday mornings as i head to work. But if you’re going to keep glossing over issues like the horrors of this “speech” to the generals (in which they literally tell them to fight “the enemy within,” and that they will use American cities as “training” for US troops) - with bland statements that you didn’t even watch/hear it, you just “read about it on BlueSky/what are they doing in cities?” - it’s just not funny anymore. I’m gen-x, i get the slacker approach, and

I’ve been a fan of David since his comics in the early 2000s, which were the first leftist perspectives I was exposed to, and of Jon since the inception of EPM. While it’s fun to think about prediction markets, it’s much more fun to listen to the boys falling down rabbit holes about John Schofield (public relations executive to the stars), jokes about sailboats, and field recordings from listeners. There is simply no podcast I like more in the world. I hope you like it too.

This show blends political analysis with playful digressions and niche cultural curiosities. Episodes frequently thread current events—policy, elections, and prediction markets—with personal anecdotes, humor, and lighthearted explorations of topics like music, skylines, bird and insect sounds, and oddball American culture. The format likely appeals to listeners who enjoy smart, wonky politics delivered with warmth and banter, and who appreciate surprising tangents that make complex topics feel approachable. A standout aspect is the hosts' long-running friendship and their ability to pivot from heavy topics to tangential interest areas (sound recordings, sports trivia, and regional quirks) without sacrificing thoughtful commentary.
